Rotface - Icecrown Citadel boss guide

Tactics, abilities and loot of Rotface - the second boss of the Plague in the TsLK. Guide to managing slugs, raid placement and DPS race against soft enrage.
Review
Rotface is the second boss of the Plagued House in the Central Laboratory, another “child” of Professor Putricide and the brother of Tukhlopuz. The battle is single-phase and in mechanics strongly resembles Grobbulus from Naxxramas: the tank keeps the boss in the center of the circle, the raid stands under his feet, and the off-tank kites the slugs along the edge of the room. This is a DPS flight with a soft enrage - the frequency of infections increases over time, and if you don’t kill the boss in time, the raid will simply be overwhelmed by slime.
- Press Heroism/Bloodlust directly on the bullet: at the beginning, the intervals between infections are long, and you can remove maximum HP while there is no slug chaos on the boss.
- Competently throwing small slugs into the path of the big one is the basis of the entire battle. The raid always keeps the slug tank's position visible.
- The healers spread out and maintain a pre-determined order of dispelling the Mutated Infection (like on Grobbulus).
- The longer it takes to accumulate 5 stacks on a large slug, the less explosions and infections there are - so even, high DPS directly makes the battle easier.
- Before the Unstable Ooze Explosion, the entire pack scatters from the center; This is the best moment for raid defenses.
Abilities
Positioning
The boss stays strictly in the center of the room, inside the inner circle on the floor - this is the safe zone. The raid is standing close to Rotface's feet/hitbox. Slime streams only flood the edges, so the center is safe from floods, but not from Slime Splashes and Explosion Projectiles.
Role Tips
- You need at least 2 tanks: main on the boss, off-tank on the slugs. Pal/DK are better suited under slimes due to ranged attacks for pickup.
- Do NOT tank large slugs at point blank range - the damage is too high, only kite from a distance of ≥10 m.
- Be ready to take down the tauntlost big slug; Speed items (Nitro boosters) greatly help with repositioning.
- If you make two large slugs, bring them together, they merge into one and combine stacks (less explosions).
- Didn't displayMutated infectionuntil the infected reached the right point to the slug tank.
- Keep the designated dispel order so that the slugs fall exactly in the path of the big one, and not throughout the raid.
- The small slug's aura is easier to treat than the infection debuff itself - remove the debuff as soon as the player begins to run away.
- During the peak of infections towards the end of the battle, keep a reserve of mana and AoE heal cooldowns.
- The miles cluster and move in unison so as not to spread the mucus around the room.
- Range will spread himself so as not to catch Splashes/Destructive Gas in a pack; on hardmode, keep the required number of ranges at a distance.
- Flat maximum DPS = less explosions and infections; it literally reduces the complexity.
- Mages: do not cast Mirror Images and do not go into the Ice Block with an infection - the slug will start running around the raid.
