Alchemy 1–450: leveling up (WotLK)

A complete scheme for leveling up alchemy from zero to 450 on WotLK 3.3.5a: what to collect in advance, what to cook at each segment and how not to overpay at the auction.

Briefly

Alchemy provides potions and elixirs, flasks for raids, transmutation (including epic stones) and a bonus to “cunning”/potions. Pays off on flasks and transmute. It comes with almost no “gray” recipes—it’s just important to purchase the herbs in advance.

Materials (EN (RU))

  • Peacebloom (Peacebloom), Silverleaf (Silverleaf) - 1–110
  • Briarthorn, Bruiseweed - 60–150
  • Liferoot, Kingsblood - 150–210
  • Sungrass, Khadgar's Whisker - 210–285
  • Golden Sansam (Golden Ginseng), Mountain Silversage (Mountain Sage) - 285–330
  • Felweed (Felweed), Ragveil (Torn Veil), Terocone (Teroconus) - 300–375
  • Goldclover, Adder's Tongue, Icethorn, Lichbloom - 375–450

Pumping by segments

1–60

  • Minor Healing Potion - Peacebloom + Silverleaf. Crafting ~60.

60–110

  • Lesser Healing Potion - cook to 110 (don't skimp on the grass, it's cheap).

110–150

  • Healing Potion - Bruiseweed + Briarthorn, ~45 times.

150–210

  • Greater Healing Potion - Liferoot + Kingsblood, ~50 times.
  • Mana Potion - Stranglekelp + Kingsblood (get to 210).

210–285

  • Superior Healing Potion / Elixir of Greater Defense - Sungrass + Khadgar's Whisker.

285–330

  • Major Healing Potion - Golden Sansam + Mountain Silversage (up to 300).
  • Volatile Healing Potion - Golden Sansam + Felweed (BC cut).

330–375

  • Elixir of Healing Power / Mad Alchemist's Potion - Terocone, Ragveil.

375–450

  • Wrath potions - Goldclover + Adder's Tongue.
  • Runic Healing Potion / Runic Mana Potion - Goldclover, Icethorn, Lichbloom (final).

Tips

  • Buy grass in bulk at auction on weekends - prices are lower.
  • At 350+ it is profitable to do transmute once a day (at first for free, then with skill).
  • Alchemy pairs well with Herbalism (DIY harvesting = savings).

Summary

It’s possible to raise from 1 to 450 in an evening if the materials are in the bag. Next, unlock recipes for flasks and earn money from raid consumables.
