Warlock: complete guide - demons, pillboxes and fear

The Warlock is a master of sustained combat: his damage comes through curses and dots, and his pet demon takes on some of the work.

Specializations

• Affliction — pillboxes and “Unstable Affliction”: the best damage in long battles and the most durable option.
• Demonology — strengthening the demon, “Metamorphosis” (in WotLK) gives a powerful burst.
• Destruction - direct fire damage, Chaos Bolt, Ignite.

Tools

• Fear/Evil Eye — long control, does not work on some mobs.
• Curse of the Elements, “Curse of Weakness” - strengthening the raid and weakening the enemy.

PvP

Lock in PvP is about pressure on all targets at once: pillboxes, fear, “Life Drain”. In Wizard Cleave, his damage stacks with that of the mage and shaman.

What to remember

The Warlock has almost no mobility: they will try to kite you. Place “Demonic Teleportation Circle” in advance - this is your only real way out.
