Hunter: complete guide - pet, traps, kiting

The Hunter is a rare class that is equally good alone or in a group. The pet tanks, traps are controlled, and long-range damage does not require long casts.

Specializations

• Beast Master (BM) — the pet does most of the damage. Simple rotation, best choice for leveling and solo content.
• Marksmanship — maximum direct damage in the raid, strong “Killing Shot” and “Aimed Shot”.
• Survival - close combat with a spear, poisons and bombs. In 3.3.5 this is a rare but interesting option.

What is important to know

• The pet needs to be fed properly and taunted - this is half of your survival.
• Traps (Freezing, Explosive, Snake) are your control and area damage.
• “Skat” and “Tearaway” - mobility; learn kiting, this is your main defense.

PvP

Hunter in PvP is about space and distance control. In the arena, pairing with a healer and “wizard cleave” works well. Against horns and DK, keep “Release from Traps” and “Invisibility Detection”.
