Review

Freya is the Guardian of Ulduar, the mistress of life, obsessed by the whispers of Yogg-Saron. From the Guardian block. The fight is not based on her HP bar, but on the debuff mechanic: Freya enters the battle with 150 stacks of Harmony of Nature (+8% of received healing per stack = +1200% at the start) and constant self-healing with Touch of Eonar. It is impossible to break through it directly. Each wave of Nature's Allies that you clear cuts down some of the stacks; when it reaches zero, the finishing phase begins. In her grove there are three Elders (Stonebark, Iron Branch, Lightleaf); everyone can be killed BEFORE Freya's pool to weaken her. Leave them alive - hardmode: Freya gets more HP, damage and new deadly abilities, but the loot is also fatter. Freya cannot be killed - she comes to her senses after the fatal blow.

10 Normal1,394,500 (0 Elders)
10 Heroic~1.8 million (1 St.) / ~2.2 million (2 St.) / ~2.6 million (3 St.)
General tips
  • Keep a debuff on Freya to reduce healing ALWAYS (Warrior's Wounds/Corruption of the Spirit/Withering Poison, etc.) - otherwise Eonar's Touch and Harmony of Nature make her indestructible.
  • Gift of Eonar (growing trees) kill INSTANTLY: a fully grown tree heals Freya and her adds almost completely (≈60% max. HP). Assign a range to shoot trees.
  • The trio (Water Spirit + Lightning Whip + Flayer) must die within ~10 seconds of each other, otherwise they will be resurrected. Balance the HP of three targets.
  • The Snaplasher accumulates Rough Bark for each attack on it (+damage, −speed). Remove the buff with Dispel/Cleanse/Spell Steal or kite - don't let it get >3-5 stacks, otherwise it will one-shot the tank.
  • The Ancient Protector (Conservator) applies Protector's Grasp to the entire raid (cannot be hit/cast). Stand under the red mushrooms - there the debuff disappears and Pollen is given (+25% damage).
  • Exploding Lashers - have no aggro, run at random targets and explode when killed. DO NOT kill them with a burst of AoE close up: slow down/rotate, run away, finish off at a distance.
  • Hardmode is a choice BEFORE the pool: how many Elders to leave. Abandoned Lightleaf gives Rays of the Sun, Iron Branch - Iron Roots, Stone Bark - Earth Tremor (interrupting castes). Keep the Berserk timer in mind.

Combat phases

Phase 1 Phase 1 - removal of Harmony of Nature (waves of adds) Freya's Pool (150 stacks of Nature's Harmony)

Freya stands in the center, weakly hitting the tank. Once every ~1 minute, she summons a wave of Nature's Allies (random order): a trio (Water Spirit + Lightning Whip + Flayer), a single Ancient Defender, or a pack of 10 Exploding Flayers. Each cleared wave removes stacksHarmonies of nature (trio -30, defender -25, flayers -2 for each). Trees grow in parallelGift of Eonar - they need to be shot. When the stacks reach 0, Freya opens up for damage.

  • Clearing waves = removing stacks
  • ShootingGifts of Eonar
  • The trio dies synchronously (~10 sec)
  • Flayer to remove Rough bark
  • Under the mushrooms from the Protector's Grasp
Phase 2 Phase 2 - finishing off Freya Harmony of Nature = 0 stacks

Adds stop spawning, Freya can be beaten. Touch of Eonar still heals - a healing debuff is required. The main threat isNatural bombs, which Freya constantly drops at the feet of random players (explosion ≈5850–6150 from the forces of nature + knockback). Plus they keep appearingGifts of Eonar — when grown up, heals for ≈60% HP. The tank drags Freya away from bombs and trees.

  • Keep healing debuff
  • Get out from underNatural bombs
  • Instantly hitGifts of Eonar
  • Race withBerserker (10 min)
Phase 3 Hardmode - living Elders Keep 1-3 Elders alive until Freya's pool

Each living Elder strengthens Freya (more HP and damage) and adds mechanics. Lightleaf - Ray of the sun (pillars under players, area damage). Iron Branch - Iron roots (immobilizes + ~5850–6150 damage every 2 sec, must be broken) and increased physical damage of adds. Stonebark - Tremor (physical damage to all + interrupt casts) and +75% physical damage to Freya. Three Elders - the hardest mode and the best loot.

  • Break Iron Roots on allies
  • Leaving the Rays of the Sun
  • Casters cut off castes before Tremors
  • Watch the timerBerserker — hardmode is a DPS race

Abilities

Harmony of nature
Other F.1
Starting 150 stacks, each +8% of treatment received (at the start +1200%). Can only be removed by clearing waves of Nature's Allies: trio -30, Ancient Defender -25, each Exploding Flayer -2.
Action: This is the “HP bar” of the first phase. Don't try to damage Freya's forehead - clean the waves until the stacks drop to zero.
Touch of Eonar
Other F.1
Freya's constant self-healing, which lasts throughout the battle; next to the tree, Dar Eonar (Bardian of Life) restores her ≈6000 HP/sec according to the tooltip (icy-veins estimates the total at ~24,000/sec). The effect cannot be removed.
Action: Always keep a healing reduction debuff on Freya. Without it and with 150 stacks of Harmony, Freya heals faster than you can hit her.
Lifebinder's Gift Trigger Missile
Raid damage F.1
Freya sows trees that grow for ~12 seconds. A mature tree heals Freya and all her adds for approximately 60% max. HP (in the script - a flash of treatment from the Guardian of Life).
Action: Assign range dps to instantly shoot trees throughout the arena. One mature tree = wipe. Miles only switch if a tree is nearby.
Natural bomb
Raid damage F.2
Finishing Phase: Freya constantly drops bombs at the feet of random players. Explode after a few seconds: ≈5850–6150 Nature damage within 10m + knockback.
Action: Watch your step and don't stand still. The tank drags Freya away from the bombs, especially for the mile.
Defender's Grip
Raid damage F.1
Wave 2. The Ancient Defender puts a debuff on the entire raid: you can’t attack or cast spells. Red mushrooms (Healthy Spore) grow nearby.
Action: Stand under a mushroom - the Grip disappears, and Pollen is given instead (+25% damage). Only under the mushroom can you hit the defender. Killing a defender removes 25 stacks of Harmony.
Rough Bark
Other F.1
Wave 1 (trio). Each attack against the Flayer increases its stack: +damage and -movement speed, without limit. On high stacks it will one-shot the tank.
Action: Remove the buff with Dispel Magic (Prior), Cleanse the Elements (Shaman), Steal a Spell (Mage), or Devour Magic (Warlock). Or kite. Don't let you get >3-5 stacks.
Tidal Wave
Other F.1
Wave 1 (trio). The Ancient Water Spirit rushes 40m through the raid ranks with a frontal dash with knockback and damage.
Action: The spirit of water can be provoked during a cast: the tank stands with its back to the column and provokes - then there will be no rush/knockback (unless the provocation misses).
Thunderbolt
Other F.1
Wave 1 (trio). Lightning Whip casts Lightning Bolt (62649) on the target and Lightning Whip (62648) on a random player for Nature damage.
Action: Keep an interrupt on the Lightning Whip - interrupt the lightning discharge. The trio fights in sync so that all three die within ~10 seconds.
Explosion
Raid damage F.1
Wave 3: 10 small flayers without a threat table, running at random targets, exploding upon death with decent area damage. Everyone removes −2 stacks of Harmony.
Action: DO NOT attack them in a pack close together - a synchronized explosion will kill half the raid. Collect in a heap, push to low HP, then slow down/rotate (trap, Ice Ring), run back in a raid and finish off at a distance.
Ray of sunshine
Raid damage F.3 HC
Hardmode, living Elder Lightleaf: +60% magical damage to Freya and her addams, plus Sunbeam pillars appear under random players - nature damage to everyone inside (≈5088–5912).
Action: Stretch out so that the beam does not cover the entire raid, and quickly exit the pillar. The basic Ray of the Sun of Freya herself (62623) exists without hardmode as a rare caste.
Iron Roots
Raid damage F.3 HC
Hardmode, living Elder Iron Branch: +physical damage to adds, and Freya immobilizes the player with Iron Roots - ≈5850–6150 nature damage every 2 sec until the roots break.
Action: Immediately switch and break the roots on an ally - in a fight with a lot of movement, being overwhelmed is fatal. With 3.2, strengthened roots can be released with anti-snare effects (Hand of Freedom, Vanish, Jump, Fade).
Earth shaking
Raid damage F.3 HC
Hardmode, living Stonebark Elder: +75% physical damage to Freya, plus Tremor - moderate physical damage to everyone and interrupts current casts with school lock.
Action: The casters monitor the timer and interrupt the casts themselves before Trembling, so as not to catch a long lock of the spell school.
Berserk
Berserk F.2
Hard Berserker 10 minutes after the start of the battle.
Action: On normal the reserve is large, but in hardmode (especially +3 Elders) Freya is fatter - phase 2 turns into a DPS race. Do not delay removing stacks.

Positioning

Freya is tanked approximately in place, in the center of her grove; in the finishing phase, the tank pulls her away from Natural bombs and trees. Ranges stand so that they can see the entire arena for shooting the Gifts of Eonar and stretch out from the Rays of the sun. Miles work through the adds and the boss, constantly checking the ground under their feet.

🛡 Tank
One tank for Freya, one for the adds (Flayer with high stacks of Rough Bark is better to kite rather than tank). The Water Spirit is provoked at the pillar to cancel the dash. In hardmode it is harder for the tank due to the +physical damage from Stonebark/Iron Branch - keep defensive CDs.
✨ Healer
Peak moments: Exploding Flayer explosions, Nature Bombs, Sun Rays and Iron Roots in Hardmode. Lots of movement - spread out the movements of the healers over time so as not to all run at once, and coordinate the CD with the tank at moments of general movement.
⚔DD
Range is responsible for shooting Eonar's Gifts and finishing off the Flayer, miles - for the trio/defender/boss. Exploding flayers - only in a controlled manner, with rooting and running back. In hardmode, range quickly breaks Iron Roots on allies.

Role Tips

🛡 Tips for the tank
  • At 3-5 stacks of Rough Bark, we stop tanking the Flayer and kite it, otherwise a one-shot.
  • Provoke the spirit of water at the column while casting Tidal Wave - cancels the dash and knockback.
  • In phase 2, drag Freya away fromNatural bombs and growing trees, especially for the sake of the mile.
  • In hardmode with Stonebark (+75% Freya's physical damage), keep your defensive CDs ready.
✨ Tips for healer
  • The healing debuff from Freya is a DPS task, but remind the raid: without it, the battle will not move forward.
  • Damage spikes: synchronized explosion of Exploding Flayers andNatural bombs— raise group heals in advance.
  • Divide the movements of healers over time: there are a lot of mechanics with movement, you can’t have them all running at once.
  • In hardmode, Iron Roots keep an ally under a tick of ~6k/2sec - prioritize healing the rooted ones while they are knocked out.
⚔ DD Tips
  • Gifts of Eonar most importantly: a mature tree heals Freya by ~60% - the range shoots them preemptively.
  • Kill the trio synchronously (~10 seconds between deaths), otherwise they will be resurrected; For the Flayer, remove/steal the Rough Bark.
  • Do not attack the exploding flayers closely in a pack - root, run back, finish off at a distance.
  • Under the Ancient Defender, stand under the red mushroom: removes Grasp and gives +25% damage with Pollen.
  • In Hardmode, instantly break Iron Roots on your allies and exit the Rays of the Sun.
